Overview
Reddit Automation is a Claude Code skill that implements a two-phase workflow for honest Reddit marketing. In the discovery phase, it scans target subreddits for threads where the user's product is genuinely relevant, filtering by recency, engagement level, and topic fit. In the drafting phase, it composes 25-55 word replies that use experience grammar ("I found that..." / "We switched to...") with honest disclosure rather than covert promotion. The skill enforces strict anti-astroturfing rules: a product-naming gate prevents mentioning the product unless the thread context naturally calls for it, and a register check ensures the reply tone matches the subreddit's conversational style.
Key Features
- Two-phase workflow: Discovery phase scans and filters subreddit threads; drafting phase composes context-appropriate replies
- Experience grammar: Replies use first-person experience language ("I've been using...", "We found that...") rather than promotional copy
- Honest disclosure: Every reply that mentions a product includes transparent disclosure of the author's relationship to it
- Product-naming gate: The product name is only included when the thread context naturally calls for a recommendation, preventing forced mentions
- Register check: Analyzes the subreddit's conversational tone and adjusts reply formality to match (casual for r/webdev, technical for r/programming)
- Anti-astroturfing safeguards: Blocks patterns that violate Reddit's content policy, including vote manipulation language, fake testimonials, and sock-puppet indicators
